DECA Club Competes in Regionals at WKU, Prepares for State

The RCHS DECA Club recently traveled to WKU to a DECA competitive event where students across Region 2 competed in several events. Leigha Reed of RCHS competed in the Integrated Marketing Campaign event where she took 1st place. Garrett Robertson competed in the Hotel Lodging Services event where he took home 4th place and a $500 scholarship to WKU.

An integral part of the classroom, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in career categories such as marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate.

On March 1-3 Reed and Robertson will represent RCHS at the State DECA Conference in Louisville. More news to come on that event. We’d like to congratulate Leigha and Garrett on their accomplishments at Regionals, and we wish them best of luck at State!
