RCHS Hosts Food Drive

This week, Monday-Friday, RCHS has been asked by God’s Food Pantry to participate in their Hope for the Homeless 1st Annual Sleep-Out by bringing in canned food items. Students are asked to bring in items to their 1st block classes each day. The 1st block class with the most items by the end of the week will win FREE McDonald’s breakfast!

God’s Food Pantry’s “Sleep-Out” will be October 12th from 5PM-5AM at Russell Springs City Park. This is to help bring awareness to the problem of homelessness in our own community. During the 2016-2017 school year, the KY Dept. of Education documented 317 homeless children right here in Russell County.

You must be 18 years or older, or accompanied by an adult, if you wish to participate in the sleep-out. The admission fee is simply to bring a canned food item. We encourage all students to bring in canned food to 1st block this week, and if able, to participate in the sleep-out!
