A Look Back at Homecoming Week

Last week was full of Mighty Laker spirit as the students of Russell County High School dressed up in themed costumes, celebrated 50 years of football, crowned the 2019 Homecoming Court, and much more.

Monday started off the week with a “Meme’ing With My Homies” theme, and we saw plenty of creative and hilarious outfits referencing our favorite memes. “Tacky Tourist Tuesday” took the students of RCHS to their home away from home. Wednesday displayed RCHS’s love for America as we celebrated the “Home of the Brave” theme. “Throwback Thursday” took us back in time as we dressed in the past decades’ best fashion. “Crazy Laker” Friday illustrated the school’s pride and Mighty Laker Spirit!

Friday’s festivities created plenty of fun memories! The first annual RCHS Tailgate was a huge success as the students set up tents, ate food, played games, and painted faces. The pep rally following also raised the Laker Spirit through cheers, games, and recognition of RCHS’s fall sports teams.

At the Homecoming Football Game, the Wake Zone decked out in Superhero attire to show their spirit and cheer on the football team. During halftime of the game, the 2019 Homecoming Court was announced.

Following the football victory over Warren Central, students danced the night away at the Homecoming Dance. Overall, Homecoming Week was tons of fun and created lifelong memories between the students of Russell County High School! We hope you enjoy looking back with this photo gallery…
