Last week in Laker Sports all spring sports teams were in action. On Tuesday April 9th the Lady Laker Softball team had their first district game against the Clinton County Lady Bulldogs, with the Lady Lakers winning 19-1. On Wednesday, April 10th both baseball and softball teams had games against Metcalfe and Lincoln county. The baseball team won their first district game against the Metcalfe County Hornets 7-5 and the softball team beat Lincoln County 11-8.
On Thursday, April 11th the baseball and softball teams played against Southwestern and Metcalfe County, with baseball suffering a tough defeat against Southwestern 12-7 and the softball team getting thier second district win against Metcalfe Co. with a score of 10-4. On Friday, April 12th the baseball team played against Pulaski County, wining with a score of 5-1 and the softball team beating Somerset with a score of 7-1.
The track team was also in action on on Tuesday April 9th at the Southwestern All Comers meet, finishing 4th in the Varsity Boys 4X400m Relay, finishing 3rd in the Varsity Boys 4X800m RELAY, and having junior Maddie McQueary finishing 2nd in Varsity Girls 300m Hurdles.
The Laker Tennis team also had a match on Tuesday April 9th, losing a close overall match to Taylor Co by a score of 2-3. Jay Bailey won his pro set by a score of 8-1 and Max Lawson won his pro set by a score of 8-3. The Lady Laker Tennis team lost to the Cardinals 1-4, with Peyton Polston and Leilanie Casterjon won their pro set doubles match by a score of 6-3.
