When Mrs. Darnell vacated her position as a biology teacher to become the newest guidance counselor, Russell County High School was on the search for an interim teacher to take her place. Whitney Wheat, a RCHS alumna and Lindsey Wilson College graduate, has been chosen as Mrs. Darnell’s replacement in the Science department. Ms. Wheat graduated with a degree in Biology, and she is currently working on further certification.
Ms. Wheat has accomplished many interesting things in her studies, such as finding a mating pattern in a breeding experiment with Firemouth Cichlid fish. She hopes to bring her unique experiences to the students of RCHS and introduce new dissections and experiments. We are very excited to welcome her, and we hope she has a great first semester as a teacher!
