The Lakers Boys Basketball team faced off against McCreary Central, Clinton County, and Casey County last week. The boys had a heartbreaking defeat at McCreary Central, when a last-minute buzzer beater put the Raiders up by 2 points. The final score of that game was 70-68, with Briley Hadley leading in scoring with a total of 17 Points. The following Friday the boys played against Clinton County for another District basketball game. Unfortunately, the Lakers fell to the bulldogs, with a score 77-51, with Ben Abrell leading in scoring with 14 points. The Laker Boys ended the week by defeating the Casey County Rebels in a intense rivalry match at home, with a score of 68-65. The lead scorer of that game was Scott Hamm, with a total of 19 points. Their record is currently 5-12.
The Lady Laker Basketball team played Campbellsville, Clinton County, and Casey County over this past week. The Lady Lakers triumphed over the Lady eagles with a score of 63-28, with Juliah Bault Leading in scoring with a total of 12 points. The Lady lakers also defeated the Clinton County Bulldogs for another district win, with the final score being 62-45. Juliah Bault was the lead scorer with a total of 15 points. Sadly, the Lady Lakers fell to the Casey County Rebels to close the week, with a score of 43-60. The Lead scorer was Addison Loy, with 22 points. Their record is now 13-5.
The Laker Swim team welcomed E-town and Somerset to the RCHS ANC on Thursday evening for a Region 3 matchup. The Lakers were victorious in the meet over Somerset, but came up short in their battle against Elizabethtown High School. The Lakers swam some great times and are showing improvement as they work toward the Regional Championship. Emma Rae Phillips won the 50 Free & 100 Free as the top individual swimmer for the Lakers.
On Tuesday the Laker Bowling team traveled to Phillips Lanes to take on Green Co. Our Lady Lakers finished with 0 wins and 7 losses. High scores for the girls was Korrin Therrien 149 and Brooklynne Carroll 135. Our Laker boys finished with 7 wins and 0 losses. High scores for the boys was Nate Eysenbach 222 and Clay Loveless 195. On Thursday the Laker Bowling team returned to Phillips Lanes and took on Taylor Co. Our Lady Lakers finished with 0 wins and 7 losses. High scores for the girls was Brooklynne Carroll 204 and Rylee Gilbert 163. Our Laker boys finished with 4 wins and 3 losses. High scores for the boys was Zack Kean 240 and Dylan Stringer 215. On Saturday the Laker Bowling team hosted the Bardstown Tigers on senior recognition day. The Boys achieved 6 wins and 1 loss. high scores for the boys were Clay Loveless with a perfect 300, Zack Kean 279, Dylan Stringer 264, and Jason Womack 243. Our Lady Lakers finished with 5 wins and 2 losses. High scores for the girls were Korrin Therrien 162, and Makayla Melson 151.
